New Connections: A recap of sorts

Happy October to all. I should throw in October 2023 since it’s been two years since my last blog. When I left you, my readers, I had begun a new position post cancer treatment and post Pandemic at the clothing store JJill. During that year I also gained my Mastectomy Fitting certification and also worked part time in a Women’s Health Boutique. I also did some in person and online fit consulting. Unfortunately, blogging and site managing had to take a backseat for a little while.
In 2022 I began looking for one full time job to replace my two part time jobs which led me to a position as an account executive for Empreinte. Talk about a dream job! One of my favorite brands and traveling across the country to sign on new accounts and help expand the collections of those stores that already carried the brand was the opportunity of a lifetime for someone as passionate about fit and engineering as I am. As you might have guessed however, I’m no longer working for the company. Instead, in January this year I became something of an expert on a condition called Sleep Apnea.
I’d been initially diagnosed with mild sleep apnea in 2020 but was preoccupied with fighting cancer at that time so I put it on a shelf so to speak and really just forgot to get back to it until it forced my hand. I started having physical symptoms such as elevated glucose levels and morning hypertension. I knew from looking into it that it would take some time to get tested and fit for a CPAP machine so I made the difficult decision to resign my position and focus on my health. It’s been about six months since I began using my machine and it’s made an amazing difference in my quality of sleep and overall health. If you think this might be an issue for you I highly recommend taking to a health professional about doing a sleep study. Even if you don’t have the condition, it was eye opening to me how important sleep is to our health and wellbeing and the myriad ways our bodies can be affected by a lack of good sleep.
That brings me to the present where I’m ready to restart blogging about the lingerie and bra world once again! Please connect with me and let me know if there are topics you’d like to read about or get more information about. I’m ready to get back to my mission of connecting people to more comfortable and correctly sized undergarments and in general sharing my passion for the industry. Thank you for reading!
